Our Mission

Our world faces many challenges: refugee crises, climate change, human rights injustices, financial difficulties, cultural and political tension, environmental destruction and lack of resources. We know what it’s like to feel young and powerless, yet in this world young people have so much power to make a difference - especially in Aotearoa today.

Global Citizenship NZ are here to help young people use that power for good.

Our mission is to help empower the next generation of New Zealand youth as global citizens: young people who are aware of the interconnectedness of the world, the current social, environmental and ethical challenges the world faces, and importantly, are empowered with tools to make the world a better place from right here in Aotearoa.

We are a youth for youth organisation, with all our team members aged 19 to 22. This helps us to be relatable and inspire other youth to believe in their own abilities.

Through the tailored workshops and mentoring services that Global Citizenship NZ offers, we help educate school students on important issues, support them to develop ideas for impact, and show them how much can be done to help improve our world.
